2012 1MWp Rooftop Photovoltaic Installation

Appointed by Malaysian Solar Resources as its Electrical Contractor, Times-Lite Electrical Engineering Sdn Bhd was given the challenge to build its very first Solar Installation.

The installation was performed on the rooftop of Malaysian Solar Resources manufacturing plant at Gambang, Kuantan.

The work consists of Electrical and ELV Scope, from DC supply to feed up power line / national grid at TNB San Du PE.<

The installation consists of HT System, complete with 11kV 1250kVA transformer, metering kiosk, battery and charger, protection relays, AC & DC cabling works, inverters and lightning protection system.

The installation was supported with 2 nos inverters. AJB’s were connected in parallel with each other before linking them up to the inverters.

DC cable were utilized for connecting every group of solar panels called string to AJB to meet the current carrying capacity and voltage drop requirement.

As for cable termination and all other HT stuff in switchgear room, Times-Lite also possesses specialists to make sure the completion a success.

Times-Lite often never left behind in testing and commissioning scope in which we possesses competent person to handle the job. Testing and calibrating mostly all electrical equipment on site is solely done by us to ensure the efficient and effectiveness of those equipment.

Testing and commissioning of AC and DC perform by Times-Lite as well as we have the specialists and tools to get the job done. Alternate current (AC) testing comprising low voltage (LV), extra low voltage (ELV) and mechanical and electrical (M&E) testing.

The works were carried and completed within 3 months involving multiple sky lift and manpower to perform the works beyond normal working hours.

The crucial part is handling the completion of high tension (HT) and it’s testing and commissioning surely needs reliable person to ensure the system is running as required.

However the solution is easy-gain in which Times-Lite independently has its own competent person, providing the best services as we own certified skills.

Times-Lite with its expertise and specialist team managed to complete the job in rapid construction schedule complete with testing and commissioning by dateline on the 30th December 2012.
